Randy Schanz: I am dealing with an old (20+ years) Mag-Pipe Transmitter and Flow unit. Recently, have been getting an output signal from the transmitter when there was no flow in the pipe. It was a steady signal - and not indicative of what are actual flows are. I disconnected one of the transmitters 4-20 output leads and upon reconnection - found there to be no output, 0 flow on my flow meter. For one week the unit has worked fine - reading flow when the pump is on, reading 0 flow when off. Howeve, this morning the same problem occured - reading flow when there was none. My questions -1) Is this a problem with the transmitter or the flow tube?2) Is there any simple fix for this problem?3) If it is the transmitter - is it more cost effective to replace than repair? I appreciate any help and support. Randy Schanz

Larry Maurer: I have a very old recording thermometer from taylor instrument companies of Asheville, NC USA, Toronto, Canada. Nowhere on the recording instrument is there any model number. What I need is the coil connected to a braided line that attaches to the temperature sensing unit. Someone or something wound up severing the line. The last time I got graph paper for recording on the drum I got it from Taylor Instrument, Consumer Products Division Sybron corporation, Arden, North Carolina 28704. I hope you are the right place to go for my problem. I would appreciate it. My phone number is 847-255-8815 or let me know by E mailThank YouLarry Maurer

Edward K. Takahashi: We found an Arden blood pressure monitor, but it lacked the 3-way T-connection for the two pressure tubes to attach to the instrument. It is a Arden 705-33 monitor. I would like to purchase the 3-way T-connector. Please let me know how I can purchase a 3-way T connector. Thank you.

Randy Schanz: Dealing with a very old Sybron/Taylor 1100T mag pipe transmitter. Worked flawlessly for years - suddenly stopped working. Checked all power connections, etc. Found nothing obvious. Cycled main power off/on - it began working but only for a few days - repeated checks, cycled power.Once again it worked, but not for long. Is there something specific to check ? Is this something at the board level that can be replaced ? Given the age of the unit - is it feasible to be sent in for evaluation/repair ? I appreciate any help.

Jim Perrin: I have a 3 Taylor Bi-therm gauge with a 1/4 stem that measures about 4.5 long. There is no visible way to calibrate it. The nut that goes into the thermowell appears to be a 3/4 27 threads/inch. The gauge seems to be working but is about 20 degrees out of range. Would you have a method of calibrating or a replacement for this? Jim Perrin

Dan Keeslar: Please help with this problem:We own a Taylor #5458 Max-Min Self-Registering Thermometer, purchased about 1985. Recently it was dropped and broken. Whatever chemical was in the thermometer got on our kitchen floor and into the refrigerator, which was open at that moment. We cannot get rid of the nauseating odor! We have tried kitchen cleaners and granulated charcoal but after over a month the smell prevails.First, what was in that thermometer? Is it something toxic? Mercury doesnt have an odor, does it?Second, how can we neutralize and/or remove it?We are very frustrated in dealing with this and can find no local authorities to advise us. Please help.Thanks.Dan Keeslardankeeslar@gmail.com408 471 4023Campbell, California
