Tom Mitchell: I have a Rittenhouse Home Intercom, Model No. M7010 that had no audio. A technician said the amplifier was bad and he replaced several transistors in it, but the volume is very weak. He does not know exactly what transistors to use to replace the old ones, and does not have a schematic. Can you provide a schematic, or tell me where I might get one? Thanks, Tom Mitchell

Jeffrey: This problem may be caused by a lighted doorbell. After the bell is wrung, the light will re-illuminate. When that happens it may be drawing just enough power to make the door chimes think that the button was pressed once again. This is a repeating pattern. If a lighted door button is used, the solution is to either replace the button with a non-lighted version, or open the button and disconnect the light inside it.Yes, I had this problem myself. I had replaced an old doorbell button with a new, lighted one. I ripped out the tiny light inside and it worked fine after that.
Reply
Martin: I have the exact same problem, but its not caused by a lighted doorbell. Without the doorbell connect (and not crossing the wires) the chime mechanism keeps repeating. Im not sure whether its because the contacts arent lined up correctly or whether its a wiring problem. Ive tinkered and tinkered to no avail.

Am I imagining things or has dad disabled this function somehow?I do see two screws on the extreme upper-right of the circuit board that have a jumper installed. Whats that for?Lastly, Id like to install a 2nd door bell in the basement (I work at home, in my office basement and cant hear the main bell all the time). Unfortunately since we have lived here the system does not work. The main unit is 17 wide and 9 tall. There are 12 units scattered throughout the house. They each measure 7.5 tall by 8 wide. I think what we have may be on the large size as far as the measurements of each room speaker and the main system as well. because of this we are afraid we are looking at a major renovation to replace it. New drywall and all that. Is there a possibility that it can be repaired or does Rittenhouse have a replacement that would fit? Please advise.Thank you,Marie Gunderman

Diane P: I have a rittenhouse westminister door chime master model 631 and 632 that I removed from my family home when it was being sold. I have everything except the Rittenhouse no. 42 transformer, which is need before the electrician can install it in my home. Do you have this transformer or know where I can get one? I appreciate your help.
