Foot Young: Hi, I 've got an Eason ES8 DRO that when booting up just displays all 8 's on the axis scales and just Chinese characters on the right hand readout. I suspect it is the CMOS battery, as it is 5 years old, hasn 't seen much use, but over the last month or more, sometimes it would only display as above, but if I kept turning it off and back on I could eventually get it to come good. Today however, now amount of coaxing would get it right. I tried it without the plugs in that go the the sensors, no difference. I took it apart and checked the battery voltage, it is a 2.4 80mAh battery, and it reads 2.39 volts. It is set to 110 volts and on checking that it is getting 122 volts from the transformer in the milling machine. I could send it to you, as I can 't find anyone here in OZ who repairs them, but the postage would cost half what a new unit cost. Can you provide any advice please. Thanks.Foot
