I have a Spectra Physics 820 CO2 laser. On the controller, I am not able to transfer the Manual Mode to External Mode. The laser is working in Manual Mode. However, when I click the button of External Mode, the current becomes the default current, which is 2.7 A. Could you please give me some comments about that?Thanks

I bought this instrument new around 2000. I stopped using it about 10 years ago because the range was too low. If I remember correctly I was told that this was because a diode or something was weak. Other than that, the laser should be in good condition. Can it be reworked or does it make economic sense?

I use to work for Amada for 7 years. Last January I started my own laser repair, install, training business. I\'ve never worked on the Spectra Physics, But I have worked on PRC and FANUC types of laser that come with Amada machines.One of my customers with the same machine as what you have. Next month I have a training class with Rofin to fix up their laser.
